Okay, Let’s Catch Up

If you've been wondering where I've been for the last four years, first of all—thank you for remembering I exist. Second, no, I wasn't living off the grid in a remote cabin. I wasn't training for the Olympics. I wasn't secretly becoming Beyoncé's publicist’s personal assistant (although if Ms. Yvette is reading this, I am available 😊).

I become a mother, walked away from a career that was slowly draining my soul, and started chasing dreams that made a lot less sense on paper but a lot more sense in my heart. Along the way, I've learned that living life on your own terms is equal parts empowering and absolutely unhinged. One minute you're feeling like the main character, and the next you're wondering if you've completely lost your mind.

After four years of being mostly absent from social media and online spaces, I've decided it's time to come back. Not because I suddenly have everything figured out (if anything, I'm still figuring it out), but because I've learned a few things along the way that might be worth sharing.

What Life Looked Like Four Years Ago

Four years ago, I was in a completely different season of life. I was focused on my career, chasing goals, checking boxes, and doing all the things I thought successful adults were supposed to do. You know, the things that look great on paper and make for a very respectable LinkedIn profile.

From the outside, things looked pretty good. From the inside, I was starting to realize that there's a big difference between building a life that looks successful and building a life that actually FEELS fulfilling. At the time, I didn't fully understand what was happening. I just knew that I was changing. The things I wanted were changing. The things I valued were changing.

The vision I had for my future was changing. And somewhere in the middle of all that, posting on social media became the last thing on my mind. So, I slowly stopped taking pictures and disappeared. It wasn’t intentional at first, but one month became four months. Four months became a year. A year somehow became four years. And here we are.

What Changed

The better question might be: what didn't change? Over the past four years, I've experienced growth, setbacks, career shifts, unexpected opportunities, difficult decisions, and enough life lessons to fill several journals and at least one group chat.

I've learned that success isn't always what you think it is. Sometimes the dream you worked hard for isn't the dream you actually want or even need for your life.

Pivoting is not failing and becoming who you're meant to be often requires letting go of who you thought you were supposed to be.

There were seasons when I was building. Seasons when I was healing. Seasons when I was questioning everything and everyone. And a few seasons when I was just trying to remember why I walked into a room. Seriously. I experienced an unimaginable amount of grief and it took its toll on me. Most importantly, I've spent the last several years creating a life that feels more aligned with who I really am—not who I thought I had to be.

Why I'm Sharing My Journey Now

For a long time, I thought I'd come back when I had everything figured out. You know, when my life was perfectly organized. When all my goals were accomplished. When my inbox was at zero. When I meal-prepped every Sunday. When I drank enough water. Basically, never.

The truth is, none of us ever fully arrive. We're all figuring it out as we go. This is literally all of our first times ever living. I realized that the stories that have helped me most weren't told by people who had perfect lives. They were told by people who were willing to be honest about their journeys.

So instead of waiting for the perfect moment, I've decided to start where I am.

I've also realized that there are so many women navigating major life transitions—changing careers, redefining success, becoming mothers, choosing unconventional paths, starting over, and learning to trust themselves. Those are conversations I care deeply about. Those are conversations I want to have.

What You Can Expect Moving Forward

Think of this as less of a comeback and more of a reintroduction.

Here's what you'll find here moving forward:

  • Life on Your Own Terms

Because sometimes the most courageous thing you can do is stop living according to someone else's timeline.

  • Single Motherhood by Choice

The beautiful, messy, rewarding, exhausting, hilarious reality of building the

    family I wanted.

  • Career Pivots and Reinvention

For anyone who's ever looked at their career and thought, "Wait...is this still what I want?"

  • Personal Growth

The lessons, mindset shifts, wins, failures, and occasional hard-headedness that have shaped me.

  • Real Conversations

Not just the highlights. Not just the polished moments. The real stuff, too.

Because life is usually happening somewhere between the Instagram post and the actual story.

So... Hi again.

If you've been here before, welcome back. If you're new here, welcome. Either way, I'm glad you're here. The woman writing this today is different from the woman who stopped posting four years ago. She's wiser in some ways, humbler in others, and significantly more aware that life rarely goes according to plan.

The last four years taught me that growth isn't always loud. Sometimes it's happening behind the scenes while nobody is watching. This space is where I'll be sharing more of that story—the lessons, the pivots, the victories, the mistakes, and everything in between.

So, here's to new beginnings. Or, in my case, new beginnings disguised as a very delayed return. 😊
